The Event Crew and the 7 News Gold Coast Running Festival is proud to support two local charities doing some amazing work in our community.  Please consider supporting one of our two official charity partners for this event – either via fundraising whilst participating in our event, donating as you enter or simply supporting their ongoing efforts to make our world a better place!

In 2009 we went public about our son Max’s battle with autism. It’s something that we considered very deeply but felt by telling our story we may be able to assist families with similar challenges. After the initial publicity we were so overwhelmed by the messages of support and assistance that we formed our charity, 4 ASD Kids. Our dream is to be able to change the lives of families with children battling with an Autism Spectrum Disorder by assisting them to access the early intervention treatment that we believe is critical to giving these kids the best chance at leading a normal life and reaching their full potential. In less than a year we formed a small but effective board, set up the charity and have staged a series of fundraising events that have provided us with the funds which are already assisting families into programs. To date we have raised close to $2 million and have helped children all across the country.

Walk With Us are a friendly group of passionate and proactive people who share a common goal – to work amongst the Gold Coast community, supporting the homeless, disadvantaged, youth, lonely, domestic violence and sufferers of mental health.

We are a mixed bunch who have come from a wide range of backgrounds, each with our own story to tell and genuine motivation to help others. Walk With Us is involved with supplying free weekly dinners to our Gold Coast community in need, an annual Christmas Eve lunch, sleeping bag drives and is heavily involved with other local charities working towards the same goal.  Relying solely on volunteers and donations from the community we are a small but passionate group!
